Globally it's the 1682th most visited site. In the US it's 1658th most visited.
Well sure, if you want to nitpick
catholic churches were known for starting schools, orphanages, resthomes, hospitals along with other ideas like universities.
we can debate who started what but you will be missing the point.
i know some of the best colleges were started by religion, what has the watchtower contributed to society as a whole?
They help the brothers first
Why? Why not help the neediest first?
i think this is a hush hush topic among jws but i remember years ago at an assembly i saw two sisters(i am only assuming they were jws they could have been studies or relatives of jws) walking arm and arm like a married couple.
some of the jws looked at them like they had horns.
some of the jws moms were covering their small children's eyes and those two women were stared at like they had the plague.
I have to hit from the men's tees when playing golf.
As long as you can hit it past the women's tees, it's all good.
when a man commits genocide, violates human rights, has no respect for life and kills anyone who does not conform to his ideology as ruler.
by modern ethical standards; we consider such a man as a dictator and a criminal.
it is irrelevant whether the victims were wholesome, good, bad, ugly, strange or just plain creepy.
Beats me. Especially if you buy into the concept that we are created in his image, and programmed to find such things appalling. Humans who are born into sin and imperfection desrve a pass far more than God does.
i really don't get it.. in most sports in most countries your career is rightly over if you commit certain crimes.. but not in the good old nfl !.
it seems players can rape, beat women, abuse children, fight dogs ... and they will not only be allowed to play but they will have an army of fans wearing their names on their shirts and cheering them on.. the abuse and arrogant attitudes seem to exist at all levels - it seems like there is an endless feed of news stories where some high-school or college football players have abused or raped girls and they end up being allowed back to play and people rallying round as though *they* are the victims.. surely, whatever someone's skills as an athlete are, there are some things that simply can't be excused?.
or is winning truly 'everything' and it doesn't matter the cost?.
Your whole reponse is to try and point the finger to other bad things to try and justify what has gone on
That isn't at all what I was doing. I was addressing one particular aspect of your post which I happened to disagree with. I acknowledged that the rate of criminal behavior among NFL players is higher. Hence, it's a problem that needs to addressed. Obviously the NFL has failed in doing so.
I've never defended any of the guilty players or the NFL's handling of their cases or the fans that continue to wear their jerseys(or allow their children to) even when their guilt is clearly demonstrated.
hi guys,.
i am so out of touch with tv shows and i have got a lot of catching up to do.. some-one suggested dexter and it was fantastic and what an ending.
really loved it.
Deadwood best show ever
A woman after my own heart. I can watch that show over and over again. Too bad it only lasted 3 seasons.
I really got into Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy the last couple years, as well.
i am still in & gradually fading.
i have always wondered why alot of jw's that i know are really into alot of sci-fi stuff like star wars, i robot, x-men stuff etc.
i mean they take it another level with this fantasy stuff.
soon the only movies made will be Marvel super-hero ones!
Only Marvel? Does that mean no more Batman?

The rates in the NFL compared to regular society for all manner of crime is way higher.
I don't dispute that it's higher. Many of the players come from violent backgrounds, only to join a profession that not only encourages violence, but rewards it. Combine that with the sense of entitlement that's instilled in them at an early age, simply because they're good at playing a game.
But you're opening post seemed to be asserting that only in the NFL, or America, for that matter, is someone allowed to continue having a career once they've committed a despicable act. Sorry, but I call bs on that.

Are you sure about that?
And apparently if you're a convicted child rapist, you're still free to make movies in Europe. What's the difference?
